Problem & Solutions
Talent BiasOversaturation:
Over-saturation on content distribution platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok is becoming a growing problem for content creators. As the number of content creators on these platforms continues to increase, the competition for views and engagement also increases. This makes it more difficult for new creators to gain a following, and even for established creators to maintain their audience.
Generic/Basic Promotion:
First, many content distribution platforms are crowded with a vast amount of content. In such a scenario, it is easy for content creators to get lost in the noise and become invisible to potential viewers. Generic or basic marketing techniques may not be sufficient to cut through the clutter and make a significant impact on viewership or revenue.
Additionally, generic marketing and promotion may not be tailored to a specific target audience. In today's content distribution landscape, it is crucial for content creators to create content that resonates with their target audience. Without a targeted approach, it is difficult to attract a loyal and engaged audience, which is essential for long-term success on these platforms. A generic approach may attract a large number of viewers initially, but if they are not interested in the content, they may not stick around, engage with the content or help grow the creator's audience.
Monopoly power:
A few large content distribution platforms, such as Facebook and Google, have a significant amount of control over the distribution of digital content. This can limit competition and innovation in the industry.
Algorithmic bias:
Content distribution platforms use algorithms to determine what content is shown to users. However, these algorithms can be biased, leading to unequal distribution of content or discriminatory practices.
Talent Bias:
In a lot of cases, companies may prioritize the reuse of existing talent over nurturing new talent in order to maximize efficiency and minimize risk.
Companies view the reuse of talent as a safer option, as they have a track record of success and are familiar with the company's values and culture. New talent, on the other hand, may have different ideas and perspectives that could potentially disrupt the status quo or lead to conflicts.
The reuse of talent over the development of new talent can have negative consequences in the long run. It can lead to a lack of diversity and fresh ideas, which can limit innovation and stifle growth. Additionally, it can lead to a stagnant workforce that is resistant to change, which can make it difficult for companies to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs.
Money Hungry:
There are A LOT of content delivery platforms and companies that prioritize profit over the success of their content creators, not all companies operate in this manner. However, in some cases, content delivery platforms and companies may prioritize their own financial gain over that of their content creators, leading to unequal distribution of revenue and limited support for content creators.
One reason for this is that many content delivery platforms and companies prioritize quantity over quality, leading to an oversaturation of content and increased competition among content creators. This can make it difficult for content creators to stand out and earn a substantial income from their work. Additionally, many platforms and companies use algorithms to determine which content is promoted and which is not, leading to a lack of transparency and control for content creators.
Another issue is the lack of support and resources provided to content creators by these platforms and companies. While some platforms offer educational resources and tools for content creators, others provide little to no support beyond basic technical assistance. This can make it difficult for content creators to improve their skills and grow their audience, which can ultimately limit their earning potential.
Furthermore, some platforms and companies may take a large percentage of the revenue generated by content creators, leaving them with a small portion of the earnings. This can be especially problematic for smaller or independent content creators who may not have the bargaining power to negotiate a more equitable revenue split
